Inspiring:
6 Changes – A blog from the same person who does Zen Habits. This is a method to choose and make 6 changes over the course of a year.
All & Sundry – I’ve been reading hers for about a year. From what I’ve read, she was an alcoholic. She’s now the mother of two rambunctious boys and she pushes herself with new challenges pretty much every time she turns around. A triathlon when she didn’t know how to swim and was petrified of swimming in open water (God only knows what all lurks down there!!), a half marathon, and going back to school to name a few. She also is very… honest and open… about the pure joy of being a parent and the pure hell of being a parent. It’s nice to know I’m not alone.
Copyblogger – Very new addition to my blogroll. I haven’t read much, but after that one post “On Dying, Mothers, and Fighting for Your Ideas” I had to add it. It contains lots of wonderful information on writing.
FlyLady – Lots of organizing advise and tips. I’ve just begun reading this one as well.
Skool of Life – I’ve just started reading this one recently. I don’t know much about him other than he loves surfing and it’s a personal development blog with lots of wonderful information.
The Happiness Project – Another recent addition to my blogroll, a lady who decided to be happier and tested out a bunch of different theories on how to become happy.
World’s Strongest Librarian – This man truly must be the World’s Strongest Librarian! Yes, he’s a librarian. He also lifts kettlebells. Oh yeah, he also happens to have Tourette Syndrome. Despite the chaos this often brings, he’s constantly (it seems to me, anyway!) pushing himself to, like his tag line says, “Get Stronger, Get Smarter, Live Better…Every Day”
Zen Habits – This is another recent find that I’m enjoying. I’ve found myself wanting to favorite almost every article so far!
Cooking / Home Stuffs:
A Year of Crockpotting – She took on the challenge of using her crockpot every day for a year. As a result, she has lots of crockpots of various sizes and lots of recipes for practically anything you may want. Even some gluten-free!
Homemade Mom – As a busy mom, I’m always on the look-out for ways to get everything done that needs to be done and not short-change my family in the process. (hint: that means that not everything gets done because not everything, honestly, MUST get done… family’s more important)
MomCooks – As I said – busy mom. I also love cooking. This is a good site for good quick recipes and tips.
On the topic of cooking, two or three months ago, I looked into once-a-month-cooking. My general rule is that if it takes more than 30 minutes to get on the table, I don’t cook it during the week. We got into a rut. They were good recipes, but we missed some of the ones that took longer and were more involved. While I don’t have time for once a month, I have gotten to the point where I can cook on the weekend and have almost everything done for the coming week or two. Then I just have to put it together when we get home. I highly recommend it for any parent out there with a little downtime on the weekend and absolutely none during the week.
Fail Blog – Epic fail pictures and videos.
ICanHasCheezburger – lolcats – get past the bad grammar and spelling and enjoy!
Lamebook – Facebook fails. It just proves that not everything needs to be out there for the whole wide world to see.
My Life is Average – funny stories from people whose lives are, well, average.
People of WalMart – Name should say it all. You never know what you’ll find (or see) at the big box store!
Probably Bad News – Clips from papers and website news stories that could have been worded better but because they weren’t, they’re here for our enjoyment.
There are other sites I’m reading. I’m still deciding whether or not they’re keepers. I’ll add them to this list if I decide they are. Feel free to contact me and suggest others!
